Fighting against other players is an entirely different thing. Unlike mobs who act on pre-programmed instincts, fighting real people will put your wits and skills to the test. As a chanter, be confident that you can hold off on your own during single duels, simply because you can heal yourself and you have the benefits of multiple, stacked buffs. Also, all melee skills of a chanter not only deals good damage but inflicts debuffs as well – nasty enough to sometimes turn the tide of battle. With the combination of proper equipment, sitgma skills and manastones, chanters are formidable (and equally annoying) opponents in PvP.
Party PvPs are even more serious as it requires characters that can take care of themselves at the same time take care of their allies. Since healers are the backbone of any party, they are also the prime targets simple because once the healer(s) of a party dies, the other members will fall shortly after. However, don’t let this fact discourage you. Talk with your team mates and include protecting the healers as part of your game plans. Remember that though the other party may not entirely aim to kill the healers, disrupting them from properly healing party members is almost as good as disabling them. Getting top of the line equipment, proper stigma and manastone arrangements and up to date skills will always give you the needed edge in combating other players with the same outlook as you. During party PvPs, it is actually recommended for a chanter to regularly join the frontlines to debuff foes and heal as necessary. A chanter won’t utilize its full potential if it will just be positioned in the rear, and concentrate entirely on healing. But again, it will depend on your party’s game plan and class composition.

Chanters, like ordinary priests and Clerics, are very self-sufficient characters – simply because they can heal themselves. Since they don’t rely on resting or healing items too much, they are always on the move most of the time. Their MP is already high to begin with and the skills they use doesn’t consume that much at all, which makes their healing spells ready for use at any given time. Chanters can also enjoy the benefits of wearing chain equipment. Chain equipments are the second best protective gears in the game, next to Plate equipment. This makes them obviously more resilient than rangers, assassins, sorcerers and spiritmasters. Another main strength of chanters are their flexibility. They can heal, provide support, attack from a short distance or even become semi-tanks when the situation calls for it. This versatility makes chanters ideal party members and even annoying PvP opponents.
Chanters can also use Mantras or Auras which increases the stats of all party members in range. What’s more wonderful is that they can have up to three mantras active at a time, in which the effects are stacked up over the other. Mantras, once casted, will remain active until the player manually cancels it or when he/she dies in battle. Chanters can hold off their own in melee combat, thanks to their melee skills that can debuff, stun or knockdown targets. Chanters can also enjoy the benefit of casting “hot”s (heal-over-time) spells, which can help keeping all the burden of healing entirely and give them the chance to do other stuff, like debuffing enemies through melee combat.

With the humble beginnings of a priest, Chanters possess the natural ability to heal and enhance themselves and other players through buffs and support spells. However, they can also be considered as one of the most flexible classes in the game. This section of this Aion class guide will discuss some of the main points of this class as well as the much needed know-how to become an effective chanter should you decide to play as one.
Chanters are more of a party-oriented character, with their main strengths are to boost his/her party member’s stats and keeping the party alive through heals and resurrection spells. The myriad of assorted skills makes Chanters very flexible characters. Though their primary role is to spam heals and keep in range so their allies can benefit from the chanter’s stat-boosting mantras/auras, chanters can also act as secondary tanks and join the frontlines. The chanter’s offensive skills can debuff, stun and even knock down opponents, making them very useful in softening up tough and resilient targets. These varying roles might pose challenges to some players but with in the hands of a good player, having a chanter in the party is invaluable.
Being an Elyos or Asmodian chanter doesn’t really bring any advantage nor disadvantage. In fact, its just a matter of personal preference. If you want to be an angelic, pure and elegant chanter, then go ahead with Elyos. If you want a dark, menacing yet attractive chanter, then go with Asmodia. Elyos and Asmodian Chanters share the same strengths, weaknesses and skills. The only differences are the class masters they’ll need to get their skill books from, certain race-specific “special” skills, and the overall locations they’ll need to travel to.
